The Art-Cube e.V. Art Association from Greifswald has been awarded this year’s prize for Innovative Formats in Art Education, recognizing its long-standing work in presenting exhibitions and developing artistic projects with a diverse range of participants at the CUBIC art space.
As part of the annual event series KUNST HEUTE, the Association of Art Associations, Galleries, and Art Museums in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania e.V., in collaboration with Kulturforum PampinerHof gGmbH, announces the Prize for Innovative Formats in Art Education every two years. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, it was awarded for the second time.
The award honors exceptional art venues in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that successfully communicate aspects of contemporary art to the public through unusual and innovative formats. The CUBIC Art Space is unique because it makes the diversity of contemporary art accessible to a broad audience and involves many different participants. Cultural exchange is actively promoted.
At the “Dezernat5_Galerie für aktuelle Kunst” in Schwerin, the board of the Art-Cube Association e.V. was presented with the main prize, worth 3,500 EURO, and the Kunsthaus Lübz—Center for Circular Art—was awarded the sponsorship prize of 1,500 EURO. The event was organized by the artists of Dezernat5, who received the award two years ago. The gathering of diverse art professionals was put to good use for presentations and exchanges, and the award winners were celebrated.
The prize is sponsored by the kulturforum PAMPIN. In addition to them, the expert jury includes a member of the Association of Art Museums, Galleries, and Art Societies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania e.V. as well as a representative of the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (BBK M-V e.V.). This year, the jury included Wolfgang Vogt from the kulturforum PAMPIN, Christin Sobeck from the Barlach Museums in Güstrow, and Anna Rose from the board of the BBK M-V e.V.
The award will support the members of the Art-Cube e.V. art association in continuing and expanding their commitment and volunteer work. The 10th anniversary of the CUBIC Art Space is scheduled for 2027 and preparations will begin in the coming months.
