A silver shape inflates, is pressed into the space, and then collapses again.
Artist Marbod Fritsch from Bregenz, Austria, has created a sculpture that changes and reacts to the shape of the space—nestling against it, yet also feeling constrained by it. At the same time, the form is characterized by soft curves and transitions, and its reflective surface casts a shadowy reflection of the surroundings.
The work and installation were selected in this year’s OPEN CALL by the Art-Cube – Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst e.V. art association, and the artist was invited to Greifswald. During Greifswald’s KULTURNACHT, which took place on September 11, 2026, “pressure body” was unveiled to an interested audience, and Marbod Fritsch’s work was presented. Visitors took full advantage of the opportunity to engage in conversation with the artist.
Further opportunities to ask questions about the current exhibition will be available on October 9, 2026, when Art-Cube e.V. offers an art tour as part of the KUNST HEUTE event series. This tour through downtown Greifswald begins at the Studio Galerie at Markt 25 at 4:00 p.m. Additional information about the art route will be published shortly.
Exhibition Dates: September 12 – October 25, 2026
