CRUSH / CRASH: Exhibition as part of the Greifswald polenmARkT festival until December 7, 2025

The current exhibition at CUBIC, entitled CRUSH / CRASH, features an installation by the artist duo Michal Sikora & Maja Stankiewiccz Sikora from Krakow (Poland). It is part of the annual polenmARkT festival and runs until December 7, 2025!

Glass shatters into a thousand pieces, flying apart. Darkness spreads in the silence, interrupted by the flashing of warning lights. A moment between time.

In their joint installation CRUSH / CRASH, Michał Sikora and Maja Stankiewicz Sikora explore the theme of near-death experience. The starting point is a personal experience from 2022: at a gas station near the Romanian city of Arad, a truck crashed into their car. Fortunately, the accident was minor, but the few seconds during which the truck crushed the vehicle felt like an eternity. The artists transformed this experience in a multi-layered spatial installation that combines various media. The exhibition “CRUSH / CRASH” is an artistic exploration of the fragility of the body, the perception of time, and the possibility of gaining distance from traumatic experiences through art.

The exhibition is part of this year’s POLENMARKT festival and presents contemporary Polish artists.

Exhibition dates: October 27 – December 7, 2025
